A lot of guys over there are wanting to hunt big game with light bows, like 40#, that's if they get to full draw. Which doesn't always happen in the excitement of the hunt.

I believe a person owes it to the animal to use a bow that is heavy enough to do the job. There ain't one able bodied man that can't work up to a 55# bow at his draw length, and be quite accurate with it.

I think they are just too lazy, and want to be instant traditional archers. Ok,now blast away. :)

I have a 54# bow and a 45# one on the way. I will shoot big game with the big bow and little game with the little one. But I agree, there shouldn't be yahoos out there elk hunting with 40# bows. I don't think its ethical----------UNLESS the shats are taken from 10 feet with Razor sharp broadheads.

Good luck with that. 10' from an elk. Maybe in a treestand, but a 45# bow ain't gonna cut it,with all the muscle and bone there.

Good point-- I CAN shoot more weight accurately, BUT I like to shoot my hunting bow all the time, I feel that the comfort level with it makes for an accurate shot----all the time.

I like about 60# myself----the 45# I have coming is really an experiment to see how effective the bow will be. I actually hope it will be tough enough for Muley's. If not I can fall back on my beautiful Gila.

That Gila, BTW, shoots noticeably faster with a heavier arrow than my buddies' Widow 65# 'curve.
