@VAshooter you're a southpaw shooter? And I actually meant pistol. ;)

@Spectre The AXR is a bullpup type rifle made by TPD and is just like STG-556 an AUG clone.

With a pistol I usually reach over with the left hand and pull the slide back and release it. With a 1911 style pistol I just reach up with my left or right thumb, depending on if I am gripping with one or two hands.

I mis spoke when I said AXR. I ment to say XCR, the Robinson Arms rifle that has a left side bolt handle and a bolt release just in front of the trigger finger. I do have an AXR but it doesn't fit me well so I don't shoot it much.
