I do have a request though. Seeing as I now have a flemish twist string board, I need to know how to use it. How bout a string along next?

Ok,I can do that. I thought everyone knew how to make a flemish twist,3 strand, padded loop string....LOL... :P

There is no way you could have possibly believed that I would know what that is. I'll keep my eyes posted as I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm finding this forum to be extremely informative. I for one am glad it was added.

Once you have lined up the sheath with the knife in it,and have the edges and the welt trimmed to near final shape, you are ready for the glue. Notice that I sewed the loop on the inside of the case,in order to keep the back smooth.

Here you can see the sheath glued up,and the stitches marked on the leather.I used 7 stitches per inch,to insure it won't come undone.

After trimming the sheath to the proper size, you will need to straighten the edge. I used a belt sander, but took the picture on my spindle sander. Use the sander until all 3 edges are equal, and the edge is pretty square.Since you are working with leather,it won't be perfect.

After you get the edge sanded down, there might be some thin leather edges to trim off.Just kind of shave them off.

Now you need to coat the edge to seal it. Tandy's leather sells edge coat for this, but I used elmers glue. Rub the glue on the edge, use a liberal amount, some of it will soak in. If there seems to be too much excess, just wipe it off.

Here you can see the nice finished edge. Use a length of cord through you loop to make it able to be carried around your neck. I used 550 paracord, because it so handy for other things, and in a pinch you could use the cord from your neck knife.

Tie the cord together using your favorite knot. Slip the loop over your head, and you're finished. Enjoy the freedom of carrying your knife under or over your shirt, and not having to worry about it falling out of the sheath. Thanks everyone for the opportunity to share this build with you.
