In-Lines or Traditional?

Postby Ruger204 on Fri Jan 25, 2008 10:28 pm

Having never shot black-powder, I thought that I'd poll everybody to get the feel of this subject. Idaho just decided that In-Lines could be used during the muzzleloader only season. Previously, they were only allowed during rifle and short-range weapon season. I myself am going to take up black powder hunting this year and will stick with a traditional side-hammer weapon. My personal favorite is the .54 Hawken. Sound off if you all have ideas.

I think in-lines are fine if that makes the hunter comfortable enough to make an ethical kill.

I Agree

My personal opinion of in-line "muzzleloaders" is that it is simply a center-fire rifle with no cartridge. They have the same range as most center-fire rifles, are equipped with scopes and are every bit as accurate as a center-fire (provided the dummy behind the butt can shoot). I totally disagree with my state's policy on these firearms. They SHOULD only be allowed in center-fire rifle hunts, period.
